CARNAVAL SANT JOAN D’ALACANT 2020

El ayuntamiento de Sant Joan d´Alacant, en colaboración con la comisión de fiestas del Cristo, la junta de Peñas, la comisión de Hogueras, las fiestas de Benimagrell y la comisión de Fabraquer, han preparado una nutrida programación de Carnaval, que este año se ha decidido trasladar, en su mayoría, a la Plaza Maisonnave para evitar así el corte de calles principales de Sant Joan, para el próximo sábado 22 de febrero.

One more year the Carnival arrives in Sant Joan with activities for all audiences.

Contest of costumes, parade, children’s games and concerts in a different Carnival that will continue with the initiative “Inclusive Parties” favoring the participation of people with autistic disorder, as well as acoustic rest areas.

 

The municipality of Sant Joan d’Alacant, in collaboration with the commission of festivities of the Christ, the board of Peñas, the commission of Bonfires, the festivities of Benimagrell and the commission of Fabraquer, have prepared a large program of Carnival, which this year It has been decided to move, mostly, to the Maisonnave Square to avoid the cutting of main streets of Sant Joan, for next Saturday, February 22.

The festival will begin with the already traditional Mardi Gras parade, which, starting at 12 noon, will travel through various streets of the municipality, including Mercado, Ordana, Rambla or Mayor. This parade will end at the Maisonnave Square at 1:00 p.m., where an acoustic concert will be performed by Le Jazz Hot Band. At the same time, there will be children’s and inflatable games for the little ones, from 11 am to 2 pm, in the Plaza de España.

Continuing with the “Inclusive Parties” initiative that is being developed in Sant Joan since last Christmas, the town hall has prepared pictograms to favor the participation of people with autistic disorder in the programmed activities, as well as an acoustic rest area with anti-noise headphones .

The mayor and party councilor Jaime Albero has declared: “Carnival has become one of the dates indicated in our festive calendar. I want to thank all the festive commissions for their involvement and collaboration in the organization of these parties that belong to everyone ”.
